I'm thinking of picking up a set of P-90's for an old Ibanez I have and was looking for some recommendations. I'm leaning towards Rio Grande's Barpack set or Harmonic Design VP-90's. Any other's I should be considering? Or anything negative about the 2 choices I've listed?
Thanks.

I'm assuming you're looking for humbucker-sized P90s, right? In that case, you're pretty much right on the money, but also to consider are the Gibson P94s. Chiba's favorites - and Chiba knows Soapbars!

Thanks for the tip on the Gibson P94s Dan. I'll be sure to add them to my list to consider.

I do indeed love those P-94s. Best humbucker-sized P-90 around in my book.
For full-size P-90s, I don't think you can go wrong with the Rios. I have (and have had) several guitars with the Bluesbar bridge and Jazzbar in the neck, and it's an awesome pair. Sublime, even :)

What about SD's Phat Cats? They are "basically" the same P-90 pup that PRS uses in their Soapie, but in an HB configuration.

Haven't had a chance to try out the Phat Cats, but I don't see any reason why they would suck. Duncan makes a lot of really great pickups.

If you're looking for HB sized pu's, I LOVE the Harmonic Designs Z-90s.
