I'd go with the Duncan Custom. The Custom 5 has a more vintage vibe to it, while the Custom Custom is better suited for heavy rock. The Custom will do just about anything.

I want to do the same thing, and the Custom is what I was thinking of. Andrew, how does the Custom and Screaming Demon compare?

I want to do the same thing, and the Custom is what I was thinking of. Andrew, how does the Custom and Screaming Demon compare? They are quite similar in EQ and output. The Demon has slightly less mids and a little more low end growl. Very crunchy, very sweet, and cleans up nice.
If the guitar is already on the bright side, the C-5 may warm it up some...if not, then the Custom is definately the way to go.
Andrew and Dan, as cheesy as it sounds, the Screamin' Demon is really a cool sounding pickup. For kicks, I put it in the bridge of my Les Paul, fully intending to take it out...but now I think it's a keeper. That low growl Andrew mentioned displays some serious bad attitude in the LP.

You could also look atthe Rio grande BBQ which in my opnion beats the Duncan Custom, C-5, and JB hands down.
