I just delivered this to the customer last night. It's an oversized 4x12, semi-openback, with true stereo.

The shell is 3/4" 13-ply baltic birch. The baffle is 1/2" 9-ply baltic. The center baffle is 11-ply too. The front baffle is dadoed into the sides and top. The center baffle is dadoed into the top, bottom, and front baffle.

There's no tolex. Just a stain and satin clear. The speakers are proprietary, made by Eminence.

I plugged my Shiva into it to test it out in mono, and all I can say is that I've never heard a bigger sounding 4x12. Now I'm gonna have to build a couple for myself, and then hire a couple o' goons to move 'em around for me... ;)

I don't even know! It didn't seem too bad, but the new owner picked it up before the soldering iron even cooled down...

Cabinet looks fabulous, wish I had your skills. I had to get my cabinet made for me by Torres. It's not too bad, but doesn't look as good as yours

I like the look of the wood. Nice job.

Would the covering come off a Marshall 4x12 so I could finish it like that?

That is what I`m wondering. I imagine a good heat-gun and a putty knife would remove the tolex then one would be left with that glue goo. Wouldn`t know what to do then.

Beautiful job, Shovelhead. I'm sure your customer is very, very pleased. Looks like a tone machine to me.

That's nice work, Don. I might be emailing you when I am in the market for a 4x12 to go with my Knucklehead.

Thanks, Chun13!

The ex-goldtop is done and I've been gigging with it. Here's a couple shots. It's my favorite player Les Paul. I put Fralin PAF style pickups in it, and it sounds just like I think a great Les Paul should!

Hey Shovel, I'd really like to know what that cab sounds like. It looks very cool, I'll bet it sounds even more so!
