I think a great group of folks inhabits this space. Much thanks to those who created and maintain it. My story is traded my '64 custom color strat in '89 for a PRS custom and never looked back. I still have the custom and have tons of playing time on it. Anyway, I look forward to posting.

Welcome!
Though I think I would have kept that Strat and bought a PRS later! :)
Peace,

I was really gassing for a PRS. I remember being upset when Guitar Player ran an article about avoiding tendinitis type problems and used a PRS as a demo and I couldn't have one. Also, the Strat had an extremely thin neck and caused some cramping. Anyway, the PRS is a much better guitar than that Strat, although the Strat is now much more valuable.
Thanks for your response.

Yes, I suppose that Strat would be worth more, the PRS is the better player! :)

Thank you all for your kind welcome. Aldwyn, the Strat/PRS trade was a good deal for me at the time, as I paid <$1K for the Strat and more than doubled my money. I was a student at the time and no way could afford the PRS outright. I see the Strat all the time as it is still hanging in the store owner's collection. I don't miss playing it and don't regret the deal. The PRS felt like an old friend from the first moment I played it.
Jo, I will attempt to post a pic of the custom as soon as I find some time to struggle with photobucket. In the pic vein, I recently acquired PS #374, pics of which are posted elsewhere, and I thought it would not be too tough to transfer them, along with a stab at my impressions of the guitar.
Thanks again for the kind welcome.
